Following Portugal’s exile from World Cup, Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez slammed Portugal’s director Fernando Santos on Instagram.

“Today your coach and friend made a mistake. This friend to whom you have numerous words of praise and respect you’ve earned, just like when you entered this game. The friend could see how things changed but it was too for him to realize it was too late. It’s impossible to undervalue the most powerful player on the planet and the most powerful weapon he has. You shouldn’t be able to advocate for someone who isn’t worthy of it. Life gives us lessons. Today, we’ve learned a lot and have learned. Cristiano, We admire you.” she wrote.

In the past, reports in the media were released that Ronaldo was threatening to leave Portugal’s World Cup squad after an argument that turned heated with the manager about him being sent off against Switzerland.

Manager Santos addressed criticisms about his decision not to include Ronaldo to be in the starting XI for two knockout matches in succession.

“No I don’t think that way, and I have no regrets. This was an extremely well-played team. good against Switzerland. Cristiano is an outstanding player. He joined the team at a time when we believed it was needed. Absolutely, I don’t have any regrets, “the 68-year-old Santos declared after the match.
